I was teaching embroidery today, making a banner for the class. Everyone is contributing a square or two and I will sew them all together for them. I will put up a picture when it is done!

It is a day off today. James spoiled me by buying me a present and then took me for lunch! I have still been being good and I have spent the afternoon Ebaying.....for a change! Back to my badge tomorrow :@)

I am currently working on a commission for a Swansea Metropolitan University student which is featured on my Work in Progress page. James has laid a floor upstairs and we have decorated our workroom, so anything which we don't need is going on Ebay, so that keeps me busy in the evenings. I am getting some things prepared for the Animal Rights stand at Swansea's Green Fayre and we have started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, so although not much embroidery is being done, lots of other work is!
Change of Plans!

I have decided not to do the exhibition in the RSPB reserve because I disagree with their policies of allowing birds to be culled on their land. I have instead decided to spend time making some really good embroideries, learning something new from each one and also I am writing a book on how to hand embroider birds. I have decided to get going on my long tailed tits again as I was pleased with the design for those.
We went to Newcaslte last week and that was really great. Looking forward to visiting again, the architecture was beautiful.

I have been very naughty and not updated my blog.
I decided against the camcorder because the pictures were very low quality. I also decided against the long tailed tits, I will do them, but I am trying to get some small pieces done for an exhibition and there are three long tailed tits in the design so it will take too long, it will wait until after Christmas.
I am starting a green woodpecker today, all seems to be going well so far, he is on the Work in Progress page

The camcorder is going quite well, although there are no really good pictures yet.
I have decided to do a group of long tailed tits instead of the jay, it was hard to get a good photo. I will be finalising the design tonight so hopefully it should be ready to start tommorrow after some more proofing!

My new toy arrived in the post today. I thought it would be much easier to get my reference material from a camcorder and after it has finished charging, I will go to the park and play with it. Hopefully it won't be too long now.....

I finished my Sparrow! I worked flat out on him to get him finished and I am pleased with how he turned out. I will be getting several of my pictures framed in a few days ready for an exhibition in November, if I have them done a few at a time, there are no enormous bills!
Proofing is still going OK, it is coming on. I started looking for pictures of a Jay for my next embroidery which I should start tomorrow afternoon and I will put it up in the Work in Progress section as it comes along
